Wanted to give you all my latest update. (To our moms: John Harvey is taking the longest nap known to man, so I will call I promise!!)
We found out today we did not pass through court favorably. We have what is considered an open case. This could be preferrable to a re-scheduled date in that as soon as the issue is resolved we should hear that they are ours. So that could happen tomorrow, but it could take a really long time. We don't know what happened- maybe we were missing one paper or one signature, maybe they ran out of time for us, maybe we are sitting on a desk somewhere for no reason. At this point the most precious thing we can do is pray for peace and for God to move mountains of paperwork for us...literally. Some of these open cases really get pushed to the back burner because the ministry of women's affairs are soooo overwhelmed right now.
You know these children have already been planted in our hearts and they feel like ours in the truest sense of the word. But, I long to know their laugh, their smell, their favorite book. I want them to experience a mother's love again. I really want them home. God's grace and faithfulness through this entire journey is getting me through today. He has already made our crooked path so straight and I trust He will continue to do so.
I will try to update each day, thank you for your continued prayers!

no news yet
Thank you for all of your prayers. We have not yet heard anything. This could be due to a phone/internet outage in Addis or someone is just busy and hasn't been able to let anyone know. We have about 3 people in a phone chain who will know about our case to tell Pam, so we are depending on a lot of people. Our case has probably been heard by now since it is about 5:00 pm there. i am memorizing amharic words for the trip and making signs to put around the house to try to teach E.
She will easily know
She will easily know
but mama will be enat. Brother is wendimPapa,

I can't believe tomorrow could quite possibly be the last day of waiting for these precious children to officially become little Scott babies! If they pass, we should have an embassy date of either May 20 or June 2. So, we tentatively have flights booked for May 18!!!!!!!!!!!
Please join us in prayer tomorrow. We would love to be woken up early Wednesday morning with some amazing news! Thankful that God is the same dependable and trustworthy God no matter our answer. Our greatest desire is to see Him glorified. I do think though that He cries out with us in our distress to have our children home.
I did get some amazing news today from a certain someone and we are praising like crazy in this house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK...We are looking at less than a week. We found out baby boy has been transferred to the transition home in Addis, but little E is still in Adama. So, again we haven't received pictures of Little guy. He is going to be so big (I hope!) E is beautiful and we feel so blessed to be welcoming her into our home. i don't take this confidence for granted and I praise God for grafting them both into my heart. We just received word that should our court case PASS we will tentatively be traveling for a May 20 or June 2 Embassy date. Each agency has been given 1 embassy date every two weeks and can have 10 families to go through each day, so we will see how this plays out. I just bought E's bathing suit and swim hat and am starting to stock up on diapers and bottles. Can't believe we have a month to get this place ready!

My design board is up at project nursery!
I am a huge fan of their design. I have already ordered the poster from etsy! It is nice to have a vision especially when it comes to painting the room. Can't wait to show you what we end up with. I hope to have it finished in about 2 weeks...
**edit: I ordered the stuffed owl too
***edit: And the crib sheets. i started looking at those months ago. They are perfect

Thinking about court...two weeks from Wednesday. Feels like anticipating our wedding day! I came across this article about Madonna's adoption from Malawi. Melissa Fay Greene is quoted and most of you know her book changed our lives.
Knowing what I know now, I could never weigh in on someone else's adoption. They are so complicated and complex. B and I have not heard someone compare us to a celebrity just because our children were born in Africa too. Everyone's journey is different and I think most people respect that. We have our own unique journey here in this house, but I love the way God tells His story through history and through our lives.

We had a sweet weekend with family celebrating Brett and Shannon's wedding. JH was the ring bearer and you can see how adorably focused he was here
